Chapter 80: I'll be home for Christmas

Image
"You can count on me" hahahaha 大家好 This week was great! We went caroling at Carrefour like last year and it was so much fun.  I don't really know what to say for this week. I just cant believe it's over! Crazy. My mission has been great, it's been hard, its been happy, its been sad. But most importantly, it's been the most amazing experience of my life. I'm so grateful I could dedicate my life to Jesus Christ for the last 19 months. This gospel is true!  I'll see you all soon! Love, Sister Larson

Chapters 78 and 79: Happy Thanksgiving (again) AND Taidong Takes Taipei

Hello! Happy Thanksgiving! This week was so great! We had so much fun this week, ahh it was just so so awesome! This week, we spent a little time preparing a play about the background of Thanksgiving for our ward party on Saturday. Let's just say, it was the funniest thing ever and I would send it to y'all except for the fact that it's in Chinese and most of you wouldn't understand it. But it was actually hilarious and honestly one of the most funny things I've ever participated in. The ward LOVED it and they quoted it all the time at church the next day hahaha. We also got to participate in a super sick aboriginal dance with members of the Beinan tribe. It was sooooo sick and some of the Elders in our district got to wear traditional Taiwanese clothing to dance in. haha I was a little jealous, but it's fine I'm over it.  We had a great thanksgiving too! A member in our ward made us a thanksgiving dinner very similar to what we get in America and it ...

早早早 We had super fun, great week down here in Taidong! A few highlights: We met with our friend WenLin a few times and she is progressing SO MUCH. She is actually the cutest and is so ready for her baptism next month, she just has to come to church (which she already has planned in) so please pray for her that she will be able to make it to church enough times so she can hit her date for December 8!! She's 23 and the cutest thing ever. Her dream is to have a family and she is an elemtary school teacher. Ah she's actually the greatest and I love her so much! We had stake conference this last weekend and that was SO FUN. Lol. Our stake is centered in Hualian (a 2.5 hour train ride or 4 hour car ride away) so we took a PARTY BUS! with our ward up to Hualian on Saturday. There was so much construction on the roads, so the bus ride took like 5 hours. But it's okay, we got 5 hours getting to talk with our pengyous haha. Then we had the evening session of stake conference that th...

Chapter 74: 754 km baptism

Image
大家早早早 This week was SO. AMAZING. OUR FRIEND MEIJIN GOT BAPTIZED!!!! She's the one whose coffee we threw away last week. She's 74ish years old and the cutest ama you've ever met. We counted it up this last week, and Sister MacCabe and I have biked a total of 754 km (468 miles) to her house just this transfer! To put that into perspective, from Boise to Provo is about 339 miles. So... yeah we biked a lot this transfer lol. I'm so grateful that we had the opportunity to teach MeiJin. She is so lonely and really just needs love in her life. As we have taught her, she has just become so so happy and has changed a lot. I've also come to love her SO MUCH. I feel like I know a little bit of how God feels about us. If I can feel this much love for a 74 year old ama, I wonder how much love Heavenly Father feels for all of His children, us! Probs very a lot. I am so grateful for this experience I had with teaching MeiJin, and I'm excited to start my last transfer ...
