Chapters 76 and 77: Party bus, pneumonia, and pengyous AND Pics or it didn't happen
早早早
We had super fun, great week down here in Taidong! A few highlights:
We met with our friend WenLin a few times and she is progressing SO MUCH. She is actually the cutest and is so ready for her baptism next month, she just has to come to church (which she already has planned in) so please pray for her that she will be able to make it to church enough times so she can hit her date for December 8!! She's 23 and the cutest thing ever. Her dream is to have a family and she is an elemtary school teacher. Ah she's actually the greatest and I love her so much!
We had stake conference this last weekend and that was SO FUN. Lol. Our stake is centered in Hualian (a 2.5 hour train ride or 4 hour car ride away) so we took a PARTY BUS! with our ward up to Hualian on Saturday. There was so much construction on the roads, so the bus ride took like 5 hours. But it's okay, we got 5 hours getting to talk with our pengyous haha. Then we had the evening session of stake conference that the missionaries in our ward got to go to because our ward was singing in the choir and they wanted us to be there. After the Sunday morning of stake conference, we ate a quick lunch and got on the PARTY BUS! back home! Again, another 5 hour drive chit chatting with our pengyous (friends) lol.
Also haha funny story I got really sick this last week so we went to see the doctor and rip they said I had pneumonia haha and then they gave me like 5 different medications to take multiple times throughout the day so yeah. But I'm doing better now! Haha.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!! Enjoy the cool weather. Lol it's still in the mid 80s here #livelovetaidong

1. Hualian is beautiful.
2. Our best friends 仁仁 (renren) and 晨寧 (Chen ning). There actually like the cutest little people on this planet.
3. Taidong 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ward members that took the PARTY BUS!
4. 2nd ward members (with some missionaries in the back!!) On the PARTY BUS!
5. We got this chocolate drink and it was actually kind of weird tasting. The whipped cream was salty,,,? Not my fave, but at least it looks nice lol.
6. One of the break stops on our PARTY BUS! We got to eat my favorite Taiwanese snack. They take a block of caramelized roasted peanuts (? I think) and then shave it off and then put it in a wrapper similar to a crepe with ice cream and its soooooooo goooooood.
7. We took our mission president's wife Sister Peterson to go visit our newly baptized friend MeiJin on Saturday morning! She loved it! I brought my ukulele and we sang "Where Love Is" from the primary children's songbook. It was so fun and a special experience for everyone!
8. Another one of our fun breaks on the PARTY BUS! on the way home.
9. Sister Peterson and MeiJin!
10. That look you give when you have to go to the hospital bc you sick and they make you wear a mask and get a chest xray then tell you you have pneumonia,,,
感恩節快樂!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Thanksgiving is kind of a holiday here, but idk why haha. I think mostly just with members bc they interact a lot with American missionaries. We originally thought that we weren't going to have a Thanksgiving and that it just would have been a normal day, BUT last night a member asked us what we miss most that our mom cooks for Thanksgiving dinner, and then they said "come over to our house on Thursday at 6!" And now we are actually the luckiest missionaries in the mission lol. #tendermercies
In other news, our friend WenLin is doing great! She is still progressing super fast, and has so much faith! She said she had a question from the Book of Mormon in chapter 9, so I open up to 1 Nephi 9 and try to explain it a little to her. Then she got all confused and was like, I think your chapter 9 and my chapter 9 are different... so I look at her Book of Mormon and she's actually in 2 Nephi?!? Lol it was so exciting! But also rip because it was the Isaiah chapters haha. Pray for WenLin that she'll be able to understand the Isaiah chapters and if not understand, get through them haha.
Biggest, coolest, greatest thing of my week (and a highlight of my entire mission) happened on Monday night! I was calling the sister missionaries in SongShan (my first area up in Taipei) to check up on the people that had been baptized while I was there. After we discussed them all for a hot sec, I went through my Line contacts to see if I had anyone I taught that they might be able to get into contact with and continue to teach. I asked them about a girl we found on the street at a mall outside our apartment, Wendy, right after I finished training. So this was about end of October early November 2017. I honestly can still remember the contact. A mom and daughter were walking toward us, and we started talking to the mom, and she just wasn't interested. So what do you do? You completely ignore her and focus on the daughter! We shared with her the Book of Mormon and how it helps us with school and every aspect of life because she was 23 and going to college. Wendy took the Book of Mormon from us and set up for another time to meet later. We started teaching her and set a baptismal date with her. We got all the way to the commandments before I got transferred to Yilan. I don't know what happened after I left, but I guess the missionaries stopped teaching her.
So I tell the SongShan sisters they should get in contact with Wendy because she was super cool, and they're like, Wendy? She was our friend who got baptized about a month ago! And I'm like, wait which Wendy? Like, 子宣?!She's like 23, super great?! And they're like, YES that Wendy!!!! And I can't even believe what's going on, so of course I'm like, pics or it didn't happen,,, and so then a few seconds later I get this picture and IT'S WENDY FROM SONGSHAN WHO WE FOUND ON THE STREET ON A COLD AND RAINY NIGHT LAST NOVEMBER. It was one of the most exciting moments of my life!!!!! SUCH A MIRACLE. It's moments like these when you just want to be a missionary forever and continue to feel this complete joy all the time! I know God leads this work, and that He put us there at that time to talk to Wendy, because He knew she was ready. I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!
Hope you all have a great week!! Have a great Thanksgiving!!

Pics:
1. WENDY'S BAPTISM 10/20/2018.
2. 7 a.m. frisbee in the rain. The Taidong district goes hard
3. District lunch at Sam's Burger last p-day
4. Preview of our Christmas card!!! This was just a warm-up picture, be prepared to have your socks knocked off when the real cards start rolling out (probs in a week or 2)
5. We spent 3 out of 4 hours biking on Saturday night from one far appointment to another really far appointment, and were on this dark, lonely, (maybe sketchy?) dog-filled road, so what do you do? #picsoritdidnthappen
6. One of our ama members and her daughter. They are so cute haha. The ama speaks a little English and yesterday she just leans over to me in church and says (fairly loudly) "I am too old!!" Hahaha we all died.
