Chapter 4: Almost Halfway Done!
Ni3 hao3 family!!
This week honestly hasn't been that exciting. Basically the same thing everyday haha. We are now teaching 4 "investigators" so we are all teaching a lot. This week we unfortunately had to say goodbye to BOTH of our teachers! One of them left to teach the fast track kids, and the other one, our most very favorite, moved to California for the summer with his wife for an internship. He will be greatly missed, but those of us in my district who go to BYU are going to meet up with him after our missions and he will take us out to Chinese food haha.
This Wednesday, the MTC got SO. MANY. NEW. MISSIONARIES. I'm so glad the Lord's work is hastening! But also it's incredibly crowded here now. We said goodbye to a district in our zone because they were all leaving to go to Taipei on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, our zone got 28 new missionaries. 3 Districts of missionaries. Without them, our zone would be 14 people. But they tripled the size of our zone, and almost all of them are going to Taichung. My district are the lone 8 of 42 going to Taipei. But no worries, we will be getting 37 more people in 3 weeks, which should be fun.
| My district with our fave teacher Xiong DiXiong! He is the only one not wearing a black name tag haha |
We had the coolest TRC on Saturday! For those of you wondering, TRC is when you go and teach real members a lesson of your choosing about the gospel. It is so fun because we get to have a super cool discussion and everyone there is so nice! Last Saturday, we taught these two wonderful girls and Sister Warren and I just loved to teach them. They were so nice. We went back to TRC this week and we got to teach them again! Seriously such a tender mercy to be able to see them again. One of them is from China and will be going back this week, so we won't get to teach her again, but the other one is an interpreter at the MTC so hopefully we'll get to see her again!
Ps TRC stands for Teaching Resource Center, but my district likes to think that it means Teaching Real Chinese, although not everyone we teach is actually Chinese haha.
Other than that, nothing that exciting has happened this week. Our 2 new teachers are great and I can't wait to get to learn from them. As I have been here at the MTC, I can see how much I have grown and changed from who I was before I left. My relationship with Christ has strengthened because I have learned to be more humble (still always working on that) and more patient (definitely still need to work on that). Each week we get a new Christlike attribute to develop and I love being able to focus on one each week so that I can become closer to my Savior. I love this church and I love this Jesus Christ!
Love,
Sister Larson
