Chapter 7: Fancy Pictures, Family, and Feet AND... THE BEST PICTURE EVER!!

Nihao!

This week was pretty interesting as you can tell from my subject line haha. Because the days here at the MTC are basically all the same, we have to do some interesting things to make things not incredibly boring. So Sister Warren and I decided to start this week off with having foot problems. On Tuesday, I decided to put my straightener on the floor because there was no room for it on my desk, and I forgot about it. So I stepped back and all of a sudden my foot started hurting really bad. Yeah, I burned the bottom of my foot on my straightener that I KNEW was on the ground. Not pleasant, 10/10 would not recommend. I hobbled around in pain for half a day and could barely walk on my foot, but then it got better, and now I just have a nice, 5 inch long burn on the bottom of my foot. Woohoo! Then on Wednesday, Sister Warren had to have a fast procedure done to fix an ingrown toenail, so we got to go off MTC campus! It was like the greatest thing ever. When we were there, I saw my Bishop's wife from my BYU ward, so that was fun. But now everybody is making fun of our companionship because we both have foot problems lol.

One thing I've really been grateful, especially in the last 2 days, is my district. We do literally everything together, even if we don't have to. We are definitely the tightest district between both of the Chinese zones, and everyone who sees us is like, "Dang, they are so tight and awesome and I want to be them." So yeah, my district is pretty great. Because there are 4 Elders and 4 Sisters, everything is even, and 8 is just a perfect number. I was told it was the number of completion in some language. So I have really been grateful for my district family. Unfortunately, our family got a little bit of a change, which is kind of hard on all of us. Yesterday, we got told an Elder from the other Chinese zone would be coming into our family, so all the Elder's companionships got split up and rearranged, and there are now 9 of us. I'm sure we will get used to having a new member, but it is going to be an adjustment. Hopefully our family can get back to normal before long!

As for the fancy pictures, one of our Elders had an idea for a super super sick picture to do with our district on Saturday. We decided to take it on the sand volleyball courts because at least 3 times a week we play district volleyball, and I must say we are quite good. Also we have matching Taiwan shirts, hen ke'ai :) (so cute) I will let the picture do all the talking, but it's seriously the greatest picture on the planet, like put it on Pinterest or something, send it to the General Authorities, or just appreciate its greatness. If there is any picture that can describe our district family, it's definitely this one.

Our super sick district photo. Share it everywhere.
Nothing gets more unified or cute than this.
We are literally the most extra district of all the districts.
This week I have seen the hand of the God in my life so much. I have been reminded of how important gratitude is, and how sometimes we don't understand why things are happening the way they are, but we know God has a plan. I am reminded of 1 Nephi 9:5-6 when Nephi doesn't know why he is making the plates, but he trusts in God's wise purpose and does it anyway. I am so grateful for this gospel and for the knowledge I have of Jesus Christ's Atonement. I know that this gospel blesses everyone's lives and that it helps our lives become better than we can imagine. I love you all and I can't wait to leave for Taiwan in 2 weeks!

Love,
Sister Larson

One of the Elder's grandma sent us a big box of homemade cookies, so we took this picture to say thanks.
PSA: If anyone would like to send us boxes of homemade cookies, that would be greatly appreciated.
Also you would get to be bestowed with another great picture of our district, so that alone should be enough motivation.
