Chapter 8: Fun Times and Flight Plans

Nihao!

This week has been pretty crazy in all honesty. Last week in my email I mentioned our district was getting a new member, and it was so nice to have him here. His name was Elder Davis and he was a really good addition to our district, and I think it really helped all of us have him here. Unfortunately, he had to go home for health reasons on Wednesday, so he was only here for a couple of days, but my district was glad to have him for the few days that we did.

Other than that, basically nothing has happened this week, except... we got our flight plans to Taiwan! We are leaving the MTC Tuesday morning at 7:20, then flying out of Salt Lake at noon to go to San Francisco, and then straight from San Francisco to Taipei! I am so excited to get out of here and go to Taiwan! It's so surreal. A little frightening because I literally know ZERO words to get around the island, but I can teach all 5 lessons in Chinese haha.
Travel plans!
I don't really have any funny stories from this week. It was mostly just the Elders and I discussing things about the gospel that we haven't ever really thought about before. But desperate times call for desperate measures. One of the best parts of my week was receiving, not one, but TWO packages from my family this week. Shout-out to my sister and brother-in-law for the AMAZING brownies that my district and I enjoyed, and my amazing mother for sending me 3 new outfits. She truly is the greatest. I don't know how I am going to live. I have been on my mission for 2 months, and I am already sick of all my clothes, but my mom knows what I need :) Also lots of Cheetos, which was feichang exciting. (feichang-very, extremely, etc).

Our super piaoliang and shuai (pretty and handsome)
district in front of the Provo temple.
With our one week left here, my teacher has challenged the district to learn 50 new words a day until we leave, which is going to be challenging, but so so helpful. I know that the Lord has helped me learn Chinese and will continue to help me learn Chinese, so long as I do it with the purpose of teaching the Taiwanese people.
I love you all so much!
