Chapter 43: 林姐妹 and 林姐妹 and 林姐妹 (Sister Lin and Sister Lin and Sister Lin)

Hello! Wow this has been such a wonderful week. We had so many great lessons, taught a lot of great people, heard a lot of funny excuses why people weren't interested as we went knocking, and saw a lot of amazing miracles!
One of the biggest miracles this week is that we had 6 people come to church! It was totally crazy, I don't think I've ever had that many people come to church before in my whole mission. And the funny this was is that 4 of them had the same last name is me, Lin hahaha. Like half of our investivator's names are Lin JieMei lolol (JieMei just means Sister). But it was seriously such a huge miracle, and 5 out of the 6 stayed for all three hours! Seriously one of the most joyful church meetings I've ever attended haha. 
In other news, we have two investigators (both named Lin JieMei haha) who are really progressing towards baptism! We are really hoping that they can get baptized by the end of this month, and if not this month, next month for sure. They are both super awesome and just have a few problems to overcome, but their faith is so great and I believe they can make it! 
When we have time, one of the ways we go finding is by knocking on doors. It's always fun and such an adventure. The best part about knocking is when people let you in and let you teach them, or set up a time to come back. But the second best part of knocking is when people give you really, really lame excuses about why they can't meet with you. As a missionary, you get rejected so often that you can't let it get to you and you have to just make a joke out of it haha. Some of the best responses I got this week were:

I can't set up with you, I'm bathing my kid

I don't have time now or ever, we are going out tonight

I have to go buy vegetables, sorry

I can't, my kid has to go to the bathroom

and my favorite, and probably one of the most common ones we get here in Taiwan-

I can't, I'm worshiping my ancestors #liveloveTaiwan

But for reals, I love Taiwan, it's a great place to be with lots of great people.

1-3. We had zone conference this week! It was so much fun, and I got to see my trainer! She goes home at the beginning of April so it was so great to see her. Also Sister Tu and I bought matching outfits (and fake glasses, don't hate us) like 2 weeks ago, so we wore them for zone conference. All the sisters thought it was cute. The elders all thought it was weird. I don't know why though because they match with their companions every day... hahaha. 

Another kind of funny thing, every single one of my companions (expect for my MTC comp... :( ) was at zone conference! So it was fun getting to take a picture with all of them :) and we got photobombed by the elder taking our picture

4. Sister Tu and I found this amazing little stand that sells real donuts for 12 kuai! Which is like 50 cents. I haven't had a donut in soooo looooong. It was so good. 

5. We taught our investigator Grace the tree of life over video chat, so I drew this picture of the tree of life. Pls don't judge my characters, I'm still learning and practicing.
