Chapter 53:Happy anniversary to me

WOW.
What a year.
I have officially been a missionary for one year.
One year of testifying of Jesus Christ.
One year of learning Chinese.
One year of ups and downs.
One amazing year I'll never forget.
And I still have 6 months!!
This week was great! A little harder in terms of finding people than other weeks, but still an awesome week!
We had an awesome opportunity to find a lot of new investigators from posting on Facebook about English class. And Muzha was a Facebook success too! So we called up all the referrals we got and set up a time to meet with them. It was going to be so great! But then when we tried to confirm with them, they wouldn't answer us. And when their appointments came, they wouldn't come. This normally happens to us once a week or so, all in the normal life of a missionary. But this week it happened 6 times! We got stood up 6 times, which wasn't super pleasant. I think this week was one of those weeks where we have to just step back, have faith, and trust that God sees our efforts and is willing to help us. We always need to remember that everyone has their agency, and we just need to go about doing good, running the Lord's errand. Sometimes we don't have as much success as we expect or even would like, but we still need to press forward with our heads and faith high, relying on God and Jesus Christ.
I'm so grateful I am here as a missionary in the Taiwan Taipei Mission at this time. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am to be a missionary. I get to represent Jesus Christ all day everyday. When people see me, they immediately recognize that I have something to do with Jesus Christ, and it honestly just brings me so much joy. I wish everyone can feel the joy I feel as a missionary. Ah. I'm just so lucky. I love being here. I know this gospel is true and that this is Jesus Christ's true and complete church on the earth today. I know the Priesthood was restored through Joseph Smith. I know that Christ is the head of this church and that Russell M Nelson has been called of God to be the prophet. I love Heavenly Father. I love Jesus Christ. I love my mission. I love the Taiwanese people. I love the Chinese language (some days more than others haha). And I also love my family. A whole bunch.

Love,
Sister Larson

Pics:

1. There was a spider on the road outside of our apartment. It was definitely bigger than my hand. Ah.

2. We were studying in McDonald's and there was an Ama (Taiwanese for grandma) knitting party going on behind us. It was like the most random thing hahaha.

3. America has Starbucks, but does America have mango frappuccinos at Starbucks?! Didn't think so. #bogoforlife

4. I love a nice, average day in Taibei. 93 degrees, but feels like 108. #itslikethistiloctober

5. Celebrating one year anniversary! Elder Spencer from my MTC district is my district leader here in Muzha, so we got to celebrate our one year mark together! It was lit.
