Chapters 59 and 60: Happy Birthday America! Love, Taiwan >AND< How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?

大家好!!
This week was another great one! We did a lot of fun and exciting things!
The first great thing we did was we got to meet our new president! President Peterson is awesome! I'm so excited to have him in our mission, we're going to do a lot of great things!
Another crazy thing that happened this week is I got my (as we missionaries like to call it) death letter! Basically it was an email telling me that I'm getting more near to the end of my mission (kind of not really, I still have a lot of time). But it told me the day I fly home! December 15, almost 19 months after I left haha. So mark that day on your calendars, it's going to be legendary.
Last Saturday we put on a really fun ward activity! Because it was the 4th of July (It was just another normal day here, except for the fact that I wore a red dress #'merica) We decided to have a 4th of July themed activity! We really wanted to eat American food, but they don't really have that here so the closest thing we got was a bunch of Taiwanese food and Doritos haha. But it still tasted good! Afterwards, we played American games like eat the red bean pancake hanging off of the string and pin the tail on the donkey. The members all loved it and had so much fun. To end the festivities, the missionaries sang the Star Spangled Banner, and the members thought it was so great haha. We shared about religious freedom, and how we are grateful for it. Because of religious freedom, Joseph Smith was able to search for the truth freely. He was able to restore the gospel and establish the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We also shared about how we are grateful that Taiwan has religious freedom and that we can worship and share the gospel freely. I really am so grateful for religious freedom!! I love being a missionary in this wonderful country!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
Love,
Sister Larson

大家好ㄠㄠㄠㄠㄠ

This week was such a great week!! So many interesting things have happened!!

The first thing is Typhoon Maria was a thing. Everyone thought it was going to be crazy and huge and people freaked out. We were told to be inside at 6 pm. And then, the rain started. And continued. Until the next day. That's all it did. It just rained really hard for a night. It was literally the most uneventful typhoon I've been a part of. Okay I've only experienced 2 others, but out of all of them, this was the most uneventful.

Another cool thing that happened this week was we met cool new friend, Marcel! #blessup She's Filipino and so cool! We share with her scriptures from the Book of Mormon and every time she always texts us back and says she loves it and loves that she has this opportunity to learn more about Jesus Christ! #摩爾門經bringsblessings

Have a great week! The gospel is true!

Love,

Sister Larson
